Book award flights
With flight awards, you use the miles or points you have earned to “pay” for a flight. You can redeem these for flights with any member of Star Alliance, irrespective of the frequent flyer programme where you earned your miles or points. And if you choose an upgrade at short notice: you can use your award miles for this with 25 airlines.
Travel smoothly
All Star Alliance airlines are based in the same terminal at many airports. This enables you to change aircraft faster and more conveniently. There is also a joint check-in area. Holders of a Star Alliance Gold Card are looked after in a designated service area. In addition, you can check through flights seamlessly, made possible by the global collaboration of the numerous Star Alliance airlines.

We also cooperate with so-called codeshare partners to enable us to provide our passengers with a more comprehensive offer to global travel destinations and departure times. These are airlines with which there is agreement on the joint use of flight capacities.
As a passenger, you book with Austrian Airlines as usual, but the flight itself will be operated by the partner airline. You can easily identify the operating airline by the flight number.
