Flying to Copenhagen: tips and information for your trip

Copenhagen is the largest city in Denmark and probably the most cosmopolitan of the Scandinavian countries. It is a metropolis of shopping, nightlife and culture, yet due to its intimate size it is easy to move around in.

When you first arrive in Copenhagen, you can take the quick rail link from the airport to the city for a fair price. The bus is marginally cheaper, with discounts being offered Monday to Friday. Other means of getting around are to hire a city bike, or walking. If you want to explore Copenhagen by bike it is possible to do so for free, on a tour. Every day from the Town Hall there is a 3 hour walking tour at 11am and 1pm. This helps you to take in its 6000 years of history and explains why the Danes are among the happiest people in the world. You can purchase a Copenhagen Card for 24 or 72 hours, which gives you free bus, metro and train transport, as well as free entry to over 60 attractions and museums. This can be obtained from hotels, train stations or travel agents. During the summer there are a number of open-air Jazz concerts, free with the Copenhagen Card.

You can also go for a swim in the harbour from early June til late August. If you wish to explore further afield, Sweden is only minutes away via a bridge and an undersea tunnel. Book flights to Copenhagen, CPH for a simply unforgettable experience in one of Europe's vibrant capitals.
