Terms and conditions of the voucher

1.1. These General Terms and Conditions of Austrian Airlines AG apply to contracts for the purchase of vouchers on the internet.

1.2. Vouchers can only be purchased via ​flymeto.austrian.com. Vouchers are not issued via ticket offices, ticket counters or travel agents.

1.3. By registering and ordering a voucher on the website flymeto.austrian.com, customers make a binding offer to conclude a contract which requires acceptance by Austrian Airlines AG. Acceptance of the offer by Austrian Airlines AG is confirmed by means of a confirmation e-mail to the customer to the email address specified in the course of the order process.

1.4. Vouchers may be paid for using any credit card accepted by Austrian Airlines AG. As soon as Austrian Airlines AG has received payment in full, a confirmation email containing a link is sent to the email address specified in the course of the order process. The voucher can be personalised under this link and downloaded as a PDF.

1.5. Vouchers are issued in euros.

The customer has the right to cancel the purchase of the voucher within 14 days without giving reasons. This period begins on receipt of the confirmation email through which the contract came into effect. Notice of cancellation must be addressed in writing to

Sending notice of cancellation before the deadline shall suffice for compliance with the deadline. However, the right to cancel expires even before the end of the 14-day period as soon as the voucher has been redeemed, even if only partially.

Any benefits obtained must be returned when exercising the right to cancel. If the voucher purchase is cancelled, Austrian Airlines AG will invalidate the voucher code stated on the voucher and refund the value of the voucher.

3.1. Vouchers can only be redeemed on flight bookings made directly via austrian.com. Vouchers can only be redeemed directly at the time of booking and cannot be offset retrospectively.

3.2. Vouchers can only be used for flight connections offered by Austrian Airlines AG at austrian.com.

3.3. Vouchers are issued in euros but can also be used on flights paid for in another currency. The exchange rate valid at the time of booking shall apply.

3.4. The voucher code must be entered in the field provided to redeem the voucher. The voucher amount is then deducted from the gross total of the booking.

3.5. If the value of the flight booking exceeds that of the voucher, the balance can be paid by one of the available payment methods. If the value of the voucher exceeds the value of the flight booking, the remainder on the voucher can be used on the next booking. The voucher code given on the voucher is once more required to do so. A new voucher is not issued for the remainder. Vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash.

3.6. If a service that is (also) paid for with the voucher is refunded, this is done by issuing a new voucher for the value of the voucher used at the time of booking and sending it to the email address specified during the booking. Vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash.

3.7. The current value of the voucher can be viewed at austrian.com and requested via the call centre.

3.8. In addition to these provisions, all bookings are governed by the General Terms and Conditions of Carriage of Austrian Airlines AG.

4.1. Customers are advised to protect the voucher from access by third parties to prevent misuse. Because the vouchers are not personalised, only knowledge of the voucher code is required to redeem the voucher. In particular, the previous holder is therefore able to continue to use the voucher code if a voucher is transferred.

4.2. Austrian Airlines AG maintains an internal account under the voucher code to which the customer has access by using the voucher code. Vouchers, whether printed or in the form of an email, are merely declaratory and do not establish any particular credit.

4.3. Austrian Airlines AG does not accept any liability for wrong information provided in the course of registration, such as typos in email addresses, or purchase of the voucher on flymeto.austrian.com for which Austrian Airlines AG is not responsible. In particular, Austrian Airlines AG does not issue replacement vouchers.

4.4. With the exception of injuries to life and limb, Austrian Airlines AG shall only be liable for losses or damages caused due to gross negligence or wilful intent by Austrian Airlines AG or a person for whom it is accountable. This also applies to the loss or theft of the voucher code.

4.5. Austrian Airlines AG shall not be liable for losses or damages to the customer that arise due a third party making bookings unlawfully by quoting the correct voucher code.

4.6. Austrian law is deemed agreed; the conflict of law rules and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) do not apply. The jurisdiction of the court in Vienna with competence for commercial matters is agreed for any disputes.
