Porto – Lisbon’s little sister

Porto is captivating – the irresistible charm of this city lies in its narrow, winding streets, intimate restaurants and picturesque, tiled facades. When strolling along the Cais da Ribeira promenade past beautiful old buildings, it’s easy to forget about your everyday cares. If you’re looking for sun, sand and sea, you’re sure to find the perfect spot on one of the many beaches around Porto. There’s nothing quite like watching the sunset with a nice glass of port.

Marseille – the pearl of the Mediterranean

Marseille is the ideal destination for a city break: friendly cafés and lively bars invite you to relax, while the historic and modern architecture is a real feast for the eyes. The cuisine and “savoir vivre” of this city are influenced by French sunshine and the Mediterranean air. The nearest bay and beach are never far away. Notre-Dame de la Garde sits 161 metres up on a hill and offers wonderful views across the city and the sea.

Vilnius – the green capital of Lithuania

Vilnius is known for its Baroque architecture that is especially found in its medieval old town. The buildings reflect different styles and periods, ranging from the Neoclassical Cathedral Basilica of St Stanislaus to the Gothic church of St Anne. If you want to get up above it all, you can book a flight in a hot air balloon over the old town of Vilnius.

Tromso – gateway to the Arctic

Tromso is relaxed and relatively small, yet this Norwegian city has a wide range of attractions to offer. The Polar Museum tells the story of brave polar expeditions, midnight concerts are performed in the Arctic Cathedral and the world’s northernmost botanical garden is open 24 hours a day and is home to some very special Arctic flora. But the main attraction is the Northern Lights, which are stunning even at relatively low levels of activity.

Palermo is different

Palermo has cleaned up its act – chaos and traffic have given way to a splendid pedestrian zone in the old town. It offers a wealth of attractions: the magnificent Norman Palace, the colourful markets, the Cappella Palatina with its Byzantine mosaics and Italy’s largest opera house all combine to make this city a popular travel destination. The Teatro Massimo is well-known to movie fans as it served as the backdrop for the final scene in the famous film “The Godfather Part III”.
