On board with the family
We’ll show you how to make the flight a journey of discovery for your children while you enjoy a relaxed start to your holiday.
We provide games and puzzles to keep children occupied during the flight and we offer a special entertainment programme on long-haul flights. You can also pack their favourite cuddly toy, good books and an exciting game in your carry-on baggage.
We recommend that you pack the right clothes when preparing for the flight. You should consider the temperature differences at the airport, in the aircraft and at your destination. Wearing numerous layers of clothes is best, so your child can take them off and put them on as needed. As their feet can swell during the flight you might want to take their shoes off. Be prepared and pack a thick pair of socks.
On-board entertainment
You can also use our Kids Media Box before departure (up to 5 days). You can take your pick from our selection of magazines for children and young people with unlimited downloads. Our entertainment programme on board also offers films, music, audio books and games for children on longer flights.
Films and series
On long-haul flights your children can expect age-appropriate content, including current blockbusters and popular children’s series with lots of excitement, fun and action.
Games
Both young and old can enjoy our games on board. Apart from classics like Sudoku there are knowledge quizzes, strategy and skill games – fun included!
Audio
Apart from classic children’s songs and popular Disney hits children can let their imagination run free listening to our audio books.
Prams and pushchairs
At most airports you will be able to keep a foldable pram1 or pushchair weighing less than ten kilograms until boarding. It will be returned to you immediately after landing.
1 Please note that it must be a completely foldable travel pram.
Flying with babies
It is possible to fly with a healthy infant from seven days after birth. But please note that the mother has a higher risk of thrombosis after giving birth. Please consult your treating doctor.
It is very important to us that our little guests also enjoy being on board. We ensure that there is always enough water for your bottles. You will find nappy changing tables in the toilets.
Give your baby a dummy or a baby bottle to help with equalising the pressure during take-off and landing. We recommend night flights for longer routes so your baby can sleep during the flight and not have their sleeping rhythm disturbed.
If you are planning a long-haul flight with your baby, please consult our FAQs page for more information about the option of using a cot.
