Vienna Airport

Getting there by train and bus
At Vienna Airport there is a railway station with S-Bahn, regional train, CAT and long-distance transport connections. It’s just a short walk from the arrivals terminal, as the railway station is located directly below the airport.

Vienna Airport Lines
The fully accessible buses of Vienna Airport Lines offer wi-fi and USB sockets. They depart every half-hour or hour from Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz (U1, U4), Vienna Westbahnhof (U3, U6) and the Donauzentrum (U1). An Austrian Airlines boarding pass will give you a reduction on the fare.

Railway and S-Bahn
Economical alternatives are the ÖBB Railjets and S-Bahn line S7 that go to Vienna Airport from all main Vienna railway stations. The journey takes around 25 minutes, a little longer than by City Airport Train.

City Airport Train
The City Airport Train (CAT) is the fastest connection to and from Vienna city centre. You can reach the airport directly from the city centre in just 16 minutes. The train stops at platform 3A. As an Austrian Airlines passenger, you can also drop your bags at the CAT terminal at Wien Mitte station.

AIRail Rail & Fly
If you are travelling to or from Linz, Graz, Salzburg or Innsbruck you can use the AIRail Rail & Fly combi-ticket. This ticket allows you to check in at Linz, Graz, Salzburg and Innsbruck railway stations.
Getting there by car
Vienna Airport is easily accessible by car via the A4 motorway and the S1 highway.
You can find detailed directions and maps on the airport website.

Cheaper parking
The various car parks at Vienna Airport are all connected to the terminal buildings via pedestrian walkways that are protected from the weather as far as possible. As an Austrian Airlines passenger, you benefit from special parking offers.

Rental cars from CarTrawler
You can, of course, also travel to the airport with ease in a rental car. Many different models are available through our rental car partner CarTrawler and you enjoy special benefits as an Austrian Airlines passenger. Hint: you also earn Miles & More miles with your booking.
Car sharing with SHARE NOW
Follow the signs to Departures and Car Park 3 and park the vehicle at the SHARE NOW signs on the ground floor or on Deck 0. You can start and end your rental in this zone. By the way: Austrian Airlines passengers not only save the one-off registration fee, but also receive a credit.
Austrian Star Alliance terminal at Vienna
Vienna Airport is Europe’s fastest transfer airport with a connection time of just 30 minutes. In the Star Alliance terminal, you can experience modern architecture, light and airy halls, short transfer routes and a wide range of shops and restaurants.

Discover the three-level concept
With an area of 150,000 square metres, the large terminal building will change the nature and quality of travel for our passengers. The Austrian Star Alliance terminal offers a very short connection time of 30 minutes due to the three-level design of the building. Unlike other airports, you simply switch between levels and not between terminals. The terminal is directly connected to the existing building. The entire airport facilities are located under one roof, so that all three check-in areas are accessible without leaving the building. The three-level concept offers short and convenient transfer routes. Arriving and departing passengers, and Schengen and non-Schengen passengers are processed in separate areas. The three levels are connected to each other via escalators and are thus easily accessible.

Check-in desks
On Level 1 of the terminal building, there is a light and airy check-in zone with numerous self-service check-in kiosks where you can print your baggage tags and a baggage check, as well as check-in desks. A special “ticketing island” is available for you to book, rebook and collect your tickets.
There are check-in islands for the exclusive use of status customers and Business Class travellers. A Special Assistance desk is available for all unaccompanied children and passengers with restricted mobility.
Please note the check-in deadlines so you reach your gate in good time and without stress.

Lounges
The Austrian Star Alliance terminal extends over more than 2,000 square metres where we offer our passengers six spacious, modern lounges with an Austrian atmosphere. All Schengen and non-Schengen lounges can be found on Level 2, each with an HON Circle Lounge, a Senator/Star Gold Lounge and a Business Lounge. They can be reached via a bright, central lounge lobby area.

Travelling with children
Vienna Airport offers many opportunities to make travelling with children easier. For example, you can hire pushchairs and visit the indoor play area at Gate F. The Family Fun Gate offers your children numerous play areas, including two slides, a climbing wall, a climbing frame and a maze with a punchbag, revolving door and foam snakes. We provide a changing station for babies and seating areas for parents. Almost all disabled toilets also include a changing station.

Gates
Shopping, entertainment and business: Vienna Airport offers something for every taste. It has almost 500 metres of assorted shops as well as numerous bars, cafes and refreshment areas. If you wish to use the time before your flight for business purposes, the laptop chairs provide you with your own socket, privacy and free wi-fi throughout the entire airport building.

Arrivals and baggage claim
After landing at Vienna: ten conveyor belts will reunite you with your baggage quickly and easily. Oversized baggage can be claimed on baggage conveyors 1 and 10.
HON Circle members, Senators and Star Gold cardholders benefit from the exclusive Priority Baggage service. Their baggage is delivered first.

Connecting flights and transfers
Transfers via Vienna are faster, easier and more convenient than at many other airports. The short connection time of 30 minutes within Star Alliance connections is one of the fastest in Europe. Well-coordinated flights allow quick transfers to every destination.
Flights to countries in the Schengen area leave from the F Gates on Level 1; flights to other countries from the G Gates on Level 3.
Passengers who arrive or connect with another airline in Area B/C can use the transfer shuttle that runs between the B/C and F/G boarding gates. A bus service operates on these routes from 05:30 a.m. to 10:35 p.m.
You can obtain additional information at the transfer counters near B, C, D, F and G Gates.
